The dreaded NEC

Evangeline has Necrotizing Enterocolitis, which is a serious disease of the bowels in premature babies. They are treating her with antibiotics and a blood transfusion for now. The next 72 hours are the "danger zone", in which we will get a better idea of how bad her infection really is. She is back on a ventilator, has an IV in 3 out of 4 limbs, and a drainage tube down her throat. They will stop feeds for 7-10 days, which means she will lose weight. The doctor made me promise not to google it, and so I am not super informed about it and I plan to stay that way. Please pray for this sweet sick little girl! We are so sad.

  7. Prayers from Dallas! Y'all don't know us, but we were blessed to have found your blog a few weeks ago, just after Dr. Moise performed LAS for our boys. It has been a huge encouragement to read through your journey as it was so similar to where we are now...and since you are right down the road! Your reliance on the Lord through all of this has been wonderful. He performed a miracle for us with our boys and showed us how merciful He is and how faithful He is to finish what He began. We're praying for both of your girls to grow and be healthy, and especially right now for God to heal Evangeline as only He can.

  19. Happy Mother's Day! You don't know me but a mutual friend forwarded me your blog. I am the mother of TTTS survivors, born at 30 weeks, who are now 2 years old and in perfect health. While I was reading your blog, crying and praying for you, I heard two little voices at the top of the stairs saying "Hi mommy!" That is my prayer for you. Big love and prayers to you from Nashville.

  22. We are praying for your precious Evangeline! My heart breaks to see her and you guys going through all this. Ignorance is often bliss....it's helps our imaginations not run wild with fear. He is with you in all of this...and I know He is using Evangeline to share His good news of grace with the world.
