Hello, my name is..

Baby A ( the bigger one): Audrey Clark Anderson. Audrey was my grandmother's name, meaning strength. Clark is Ryan and his father's middle name.

Baby B: Evangeline Sommer Anderson. Evangeline means good news or gospel. Sommer is my maiden name.

Brief update:
Yesterday I was hopeful, today I'm scared, and that's just kind of how it's been. We took weights at my appointment this morning and Audrey is 1lb 13oz, Evangeline is 1lb 1oz (Im 26 weeks). She is still growing, but so slowly. When her growth comes to a halt, which it likely will, we will have deliver. She just does not have the placental mass and access that her sister does. My concerns are that she will stop growing in the next few weeks, that she will not survive, or that she/ they will have physical or neurological disabilities. Of course, none of that could happen too.

I just really wanted a miraculous story, where things went beautifully and smoothly, and I thought I might get it- but that just might not be what the Lord has for us. At this point, I don't expect to get to the mid 30s, I think more like 30 maybe 32 weeks... Im sad.

Would you please pray for Evangeline to have a growth spurt and to continue to grow as long as possible? Thank you, thank you!!!

  3. Love, love, love the names of your girls. So thoughtful and restorative of love past and present in your bloods. Looked up many passages about growth and growing. Most of them said, God does the growing. So He will grow them as is most pleasing to Him. Which means they will be perfect no matter what! His ways are not our ways, dear ones. Please find comfort and peace in this. Give Audrey and Evangeline a love pat.

  7. Laura, I have visited your blog a little bit and have followed you guys through some of what you're going through. And really, words can't express the ache I feel for you and Ryan. I am just so sorry. I will pray that God will be gracious and answer your prayers that you'll make it to 32 or more weeks and that Evangeline will continue to grow. May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding comfort you while you wait midst the uncertainty. I love the names you guys have chosen.

  9. Praying, praying. You have identified by name your beautiful girls, and God knows them, and knows your heart, and your love for them. I along with others pray for a healthy delivery, and safe care for your little ladies when they come. My kiddos were born at 31 weeks, 3lbs 2 and 3 lbs 7...and they were the feeders and growers in NICU. They will be THREE in two weeks, and are doing awesome! So...you can totally do this! The longer you can make it, the better, obviously, but know that NICU nurses are the most awesome people in the world! I also hope that you can join a local Moms of Multiples club so you can get some support for YOU! Sending a hug and a prayer--times two! :)
