Thank you!

Thank you so much for all your support and prayers- Evangeline is finally past the worst of it, and recovering from the NEC. She got off the ventilator today, and they were able to remove many of her tubes and IVs. They think we are now past the "danger zone" (the time period where the bowel is at risk for perforation) and so we have avoided that surgery. There is a possibility for surgery weeks down the road if her bowels do not heal up exactly right... Her labs and x-rays are improving, and she is behaving like she feels better.

In terms of the second infection, they are still not exactly sure what to make of it. There is a hard inflamed area on her neck, that has remained unchanged for the past several days with antibiotics. They are not sure if it is a gland issue or an abscess, etc.  A surgeon is going to come in and take a look tonight.  Hopefully, it can just be drained, and will not prove to be a major problem...

From here, we kindof start from the beginning again. After 10 days of antibiotics and holding feeds, we will slowing start re-feeding again and take it one feeding at a time, one poop at a time, one day at a time, and hopefully she will be able to take off and come home so that her momma and daddy can have her all to themselves- no needles/tubes/wires allowed!!

Meanwhile, we do have another child...she's big stuff; wearing big girl clothes, in an open crib, taking bottles, and weighs 4 1/2lbs.

Please join us in thanking God that Evangeline has crossed this hurdle and protected Audrey! Thank you so much for your prayers, I truly believe you all carried us through this. I have prayed that God would bless each of you.

Thank you for loving us, especially all of the people following our story that we don't know-we're so touched by you! We still have a long road ahead with Evangeline, but must rejoice when we're able. Please continue to pray for us as you think of it. Much love to you! xo.

  17. Wow!!! So much good news! So happy and inspired by the fight of God and Evangeline. Watch out! She will probably be one strong willed little girl but praise God for that! She is fearfully and wonderfully made by God. Will continue to pray for health and development of the girlies.
